TAKOMA ACADEMY ALUMNI ASSOCIATION

May 22, 2012

OFFICE OF THE PRESIDENT

Message from the President

Mr. Henry Pittman

Class of 1982

The Takoma Academy Alumni Association (TAAA) is committed to assisting eligible students gain access and opportunity to a CHRISTIAN secondary education. In keeping with this commitment, the association transferred to Takoma Academy $1265.00 collected from alumnus during the Sabbath offering of April 28, 2012, funds which were specifically identified for student financial aid.

Since May 1, 2012, officers of the association have been working with the Vice Principal for Finance; Ms. Rosenia Bailey to determine how the association can assist several families of qualified seniors who are unable to graduate this year due to financial difficulties brought on by unemployment, unforeseen medical expenses, and other life changing events.

As a result of these discussions, the association has determined a need to raise a minimum of $15,000.00 immediately in order to allow students to graduate Sunday June 3, 2012. Please send check or money orders payable to Takoma Academy Alumni Association and with 2012 Graduating Senior Worthy Student Fund in the memo section by May 31, 2012 to the following address:

Attention: 2012 Graduating Senior Worthy Student Fund

During my educational career at Takoma Academy I benefited from institutional financial
aid and worked at John Nevins Andrews in order to assist with my educational expenses.
Without this aid, I would not have been able to earn my high school diploma from Takoma
Academy in 1982. Therefore, I am particularly sensitive to the needs of our students and
parents as they navigate the financial process of Christian education in an economically
challenging environment.

Thank you for your generous contributions and assistance, and we pledge to be accountable to you as alumnus and we will be good stewards of your financial gifts. Please do not hesitate to contact me at 240-354-4309 or president@taalumni.org with questions.
